Unlock Your Confidence: The Hidden Power of Effective Time Management
A surprising outcome from improving your time management skills is the increase in confidence and self-belief that many people experience.
It’s no longer a surprise to me. I hear this mentioned time and again from the people I work with.
People come to me or connect because they want to be more productive, to use their time more effectively and get things done.
Working 1:1, they quickly find that it’s about so much more.
It’s not just about how you manage your time and the choices you make but it’s about confidence, values, relationships, wellbeing, mindset …
When you’re disorganised, have little or no structure and miss deadlines, it undermines your self-confidence.
It prevents you from progressing in your career and knocks your confidence and self-belief.
How To Boost Confidence
It’s a natural progression from feeling more organised and in control of your workload. Manage the overwhelm and know what you need to do and you'll feel more confident.
- Have conversations with your manager, other people in the team, customers or clients that you might have previously avoided or ignored because you were unsure of your own ability.
- Be in a better position to understand your priorities and what you’re able to do, so you have the confidence to say ‘no’ or push back when it’s needed without feeling guilty.
- Success builds success. Achieve things and get them done. No matter how small, will boost your confidence, so you’re able to take the next step and achieve more.
- Feel less stressed because you have a plan. When you reduce your stress, you’re mentally more focused and productive, which creates a positive feedback loop.
- Have a system in place. You're less likely to forget things or miss deadlines. You're more reliable and gain confidence in your ability to get things done in timely manner.
- Put yourself first, at work, at home or for your own personal development and wellbeing.
- When ‘life happens’ it won't send you into a tailspin. You have a way to deal with it, manage it and move forward.
The more your confidence grows, the more you experience the positive benefits of good time management. You're able to focus on what’s important and have confidence in your own skills and ability.
Having a structure and building good time habits is important when it comes to boosting your confidence.
